Shruthi almost went mad when she realized how mean she had been to Chinnu. After Chinnu leaves, Shruthi overhears Kumudha and Kalpana praising their plan. Later on, Kumudha and Kalpana keep telling Shruthi bad things about Chinnu so Chinnu can leave their house. Chinnu's stepbrother tells Shruthi that Chinnu ran away with a city boy, but she does not believe him. She goes to Chinnu's village, Doddarasinakere, to meet Chinnu's family and find out whom she married. Shruthi finds half of Chinnu's marriage photo and tries to find Chinnu's husband. Around this time, Chandan figures out that Chinnu is actually Lachi. When he finally confesses his love, Lachi rejects him, breaking his heart. He gradually falls in love with Lachi, with the hope that he can be the husband she never will have. Soon, Chandan's friend, Siddharth, arrives as a partner to his company. As time moves on, fate leads Lachi into Chandan's home to take care of his mother, without either one recognizing their existence and identities. Shruthi, finds her long lost sister in Lachi and takes her home. While getting hurt in the process, Lachi is admitted to a hospital where she meets Shruthi, not knowing that she is Chandan's girlfriend. While roaming about, a thief deceives her and steals all her jewelry and money. In order to repay him for his kindness, she runs away from Chandan so as to not interfere in his life. While on the way to Chandan's hometown, Lachi finds out about Chandan's love for Shruthi. Chandan's entry in her life would have meant a new lease of happiness but even that was taken away from her. In order to save Lachi from her cruel step-family, Chandan unavoidably marries her at the plea of her grandmother. The only love she knew came from her grandmother. While Lachi was the girl who fit every quality in Parvathi's checklist, she was the illegitimate daughter of Mahadeva whose family treated her as their slave. She wants a daughter in law who will not just love Chandan but will also be a part of all the highs and lows in his life – she wanted a girl with a golden heart. Parvathi, Chandan's widow mother, means the world to him but she is against love marriages. Chandan is a 26-year-old bachelor who is the owner of a successful multinational company. "Lakshmi Baramma" is the story of a small town girl, Lakshmi (Lachi), who escapes her cruel family through an inconvenient marriage to a man named Chandan and her struggles thereafter. Kailash and Kalpana plan Kumudha's marriage and Kumudha threatens Chinnu by telling her that she will tell everyone that her husband is Chandu. Kumudha gets irritated by Kailash and Ranjith.
At the same time, marriage preparations and going on and Kalpana suspects that Parvathi is creating a scheme to stop the marriage. This shocks Parvathi and puts her in a huge dilemma.
If not for her, Chandu would have died 16 months ago. Later on, Parvathi (Chandu's mom) sees a Purohit who tells her that Chandu is already married and that his first wife is the one keeping him alive. In the course, he is pushed off the top floor of the building and goes into coma. He confronts her in a construction site, where it turns out into a heated argument. It is one of the top ETV Kannada serials of 2013.īut at the same time, he finds out Kumuda ( Chandu's Aunt) is planning to kill Chandu soon after the marriage.
